Pregnancy keepsakes
I love gorgeous keepsakes and special ways of keeping a memory alive especially when it comes to my kids. I love making and keeping imprints and prints of my kids hands and feet, just because they will never be that little again and the kids also love seeing how small they were.
Although there are many ways of keeping these memories alive, there are a few that stand out quite a bit. I just had to share my current two keepsake crushes with you.
Ultra Sound Embroidery
You do get lovely frames, books and boxes to put your precious ultrasound or 3d Sonar pictures in but to have this embroidered into a piece of art is just next level amazing. The lovely Veselka from Little Herb Bouquet, located in Munich, Germany created an embroidered ultrasound piece for herself to remind her of this amazing time in her life and it took off like wildfire and took her embroidery business in a complete different direction.
These detailed artworks can be ordered here. They are $300 for a 10cm hoop excluding shipping, but worth every penny.
Illustrated Baby Print
My next keepsake crush is back to local grounds. Most of us has loads of photo’s of our seconds or minutes old baby, but that is not normally the one to make the cut for the wall. Those wrinkly pink, white and sometimes blueish baby photos are not normally the images onlookers swoon about, it is more of a personal photo and oh so precious for us mommies. The creative Michelle from Mayalief makes an illustration of those precious first moments for you to keep and display forever. She creates an unique hand-drawn version of your favourite newborn photo, this gets digitised and printed with the birth details and name of the baby. You can also add up to 3 siblings on one artwork.
Order yours here. The unframed A3 print ranges from R275 to R675.
I’m a sucker for unique products, and these keepsakes are really precious.
