The Collaborative – Kalahari nursery

When you think of the Kalahari, a baby nursery is not the first thing that comes to mind. But with the rising trend of not having a full nursery, we could not resist the temptation to create a nook that will be able to fit into any grown up space but that can still function as a functional space for mom and baby.

Our mood board showed off a slight industrial look with elements that you would find in the African Kalahari region.

The overall look of this Kalahari Nursery was very subdued by all the natural colours but the pops of green brought the room to life. We were completely inspired by the beautiful calabash lights that we found from Dis Moi calabash and we decided to use the natural colour in this room.

Mayalief has launched their beautiful baby memory book, “The story of you”, this year. It is such a special place to jot down all the small things about the journey that we take with our precious babies, some of which we do forget with time. The book is available in English and in Afrikaans.

The “Mother & Child” sculptured doll set is one of my favourite pieces from RipleyCatCo, and the colours worked so amazing with this theme.
