Alexia’s confetti room

I could not wait to share this confetti & pastels room designed for a very special girl.

My brief from the very adamant 6 year old was that she wanted a room with pink, purple, gold and glitter with unicorns and confetti – a brief I’m sure that most 6 year-old girls would give and that most mothers dread, so I did an interpretation on this look in a bit more sophisticated yet age appropriate look.

I started with a very neutral grey base and added in some pastels to the bedding and headboard and rugs. I designed a custom headboard inspired by the silhouettes of dutch houses. On the opposite walls I had confetti decals made by Bokaloli but I did not want it to overtake the whole wall, so I started with a loads of confetti in the corner of the wall and thinned them out as I was going further along. The confetti was repeated in the custom camera in collaboration with La Fede.

I kept her doll house in the room and resprayed an old school desk for her to use as a drawing and homework table. I added in some storage for her books and art equipment. I also incorporated a little dressing table area with a mirror using her side table and this also has some storage boxes for her bits and bobs.

This room was part of the Prominent Paint room renovations, have a look here.
