2018 Holiday lust haves

It is that time of the year again… Christmas decorations are up in the malls and I’m so ready for this silly season to start! We are also buying a new Christmas tree next week so I’m so excited to get the festivities going.

I have yet again rounded up a list of my favourite items for this holiday season and Christmas. These make amazing stocking fillers and festive party starters (like we need it), AND we have a special Christmas giveaway at the end of the post..

2018 Holiday Lust Haves

  1. Elf For Christmas
Need a little help with the kids this festive season? I found a handy little helper to get the kids to behave a little better over the festive season, at least until Christmas. ?We’ve been doing the Christmas Elf tradition for the last 2 years and we have just added a beautiful girl Elf to the tribe. *Watch my Instagram page from the 1st of December to see what she gets up to and how the kids react when she arrives at our house. We are also adding the advent letters and reward kit that comes with the Elf to our tradition this year.So what is the fuss about you may ask? Sent from the North Pole, Elf reports on good behaviour to let Santa know if children are on the Naughty or Nice List. Win for parents! But beware! At night while everyone is asleep, Elf gets up to all kinds of funny mischief… (this is where parents probably have more fun that the kids). In the morning the big search is on to see what Elf got up to during the night. Another bonus is that you can register your Elf and receive personalised emails for up to 5 kids.
The reward kit comes with notes, stickers a reward chart as well as letters for the kids to write to Santa, you are also able to get refill kits next year.Elf for Christmas range includes:
    – Christmas Elf & Reward kit (Boy and Girl option)
    – Rewards chart refill kits
    – Advent letters (24 per pack, 2018 edition)
    – ‘Elf’s first Adventure’ story book
    – North Pole sticker set
    – Magical Elf door/night light

  2. Gingerbread house kit
I bought a DIY gingerbread house kit last year and the kids had so much fun building, and eating it. It also added some more Christmas cheer to the holiday decor and smelled divine.

The kit we used can be bought at Crafters Market and online.
A few other suppliers of ginger bread house kits are:
    Cooking up a storm
    Harck & Heart
    Gingerbread house kits
Cookie Creative has some amazing DIY cookies and ginger bread house kits,
and if you like to do them from scratch trusted Woolworths has an easy bake kit.

  3. Beach Bag
I can’t rave enough about my beautiful Migi Go-Go Bag. It fits everything that you will need for a beach day in one bag and it is waterproof. Not only is it a perfect beach bag, it makes for an amazing shopper if you are planning to go to a market or shopping. Buy your Migi Go-G0 Bag here.

  4. Drink Infusers
I love pretty drinks!  and I found these amazing flavours that you can add to your gin or even a non-alcoholic drink.

Secco is a blend of specially selected dried fruit and spices which allow you to naturally infuse a drink of your choice. The process by which the fruit has been dried leaves the fruit’s structure open allowing it to naturally infuse your drink with flavour and colour. Simply add one sachet of your favourite Secco to a glass of G&T, cocktail or soft drink and allow to infuse and enjoy. Shop on Takealot and Yuppy Chef.

  5. Frost Pops
If you follow my Instagram over the holiday times you will always find a few pics with me holding a frost pop or two. Perfect for a poolside chill and delish. They have added amazing new flavours as well as non-alcholic options.

  6. Instax Camera
I have been lusting over these instant Instax cameras for ages.. nudge nudge Santa!
    Such a fun way to catch all the fun times during summer holidays. {Takealot stocks them, Santa!}

  7. Lucky Little Christmas Outfits
I’ve always wanted to dress my whole family in matching Christmas attire. Lucky Little has launched the cutest tees and family sets for Christmas. I love the quirkiness of the whole range of adults, kids and baby tees and sets.

The Christmas Crew tees are a family set with the option of adding either the surname or individual names to the back of the tees, with a number for a team vibe. Order your Christmas Cheese Tees from Lucky Little.

  8. Beach Bats
Beach fun always includes beach bats, these gorgeous and on trend beach bat sets from Chill Winstan will do perfectly.

On a more serious note, during holiday times we get time to reflect and to do some planning for the next year. My New Years resolutions includes to be more organised in 2019 so I found these items from Macaroon very helpful to get me into action for 2019.

  9. Desk Folders
These personalised desk folders from Macaroon helps me to organise paper work immediately and also according to task or family member. Buy here.

  10. Record File
I am that mom that has lost my child fascination card, yes it’s me!!! During an office clean up it must have landed on the wrong pile and left the house in a sad little recycling bag. I’ve made it my mission to ensure that this will never happen again and this counts for all the important documents for my kids. I have started a life file for each of them using punched sleeve folders and the `Macaroon record file stickers to file report cards, certificates and any relevant documents to the year that they are in school. Buy here.
